Angel Di Maria is not having a good time. Returning from injury, Serie A side took the field against Monza. However, Di Maria's return was never a pleasant one.
The Juventus midfielder left the field after seeing a red card for elbowing Monza's Armando Izzo. However, his punishment does not end there. The Argentinian star has been banned for two matches as punishment for elbowing. However, Di Maria survived as the injuries were not too serious. Otherwise he should have received a greater punishment.
Juventus is not in a good mood this season. The "Ladies of Turin" faced newcomers Mantsa on Sunday. Italy's most successful club wanted to get back on track with this match. However, in this match, Mantsa put Juventus under pressure from the beginning. Meanwhile, the pressure increased further when Di Maria left the field after receiving a straight red card in the 40th minute of the match. The Argentine star received his marching orders after elbowing Monza defender Armando Itzo in the chest.
Mantsa increased the pressure by getting 10-man Juventus. Christian Gitkier scored the winning goal for Mantsa in the 74th minute. With this loss, the club of Turin is in the eighth place in the points list with only 10 points in 7 matches in the league. Juve's situation in the Champions League, however, is even more dire. They lost both of the two matches in the group stage.
Juventus have no more matches before the end of the international football break. In the meantime, the big shock was to lose Maria. The club will not have this winger against Bologna at home on October 2 and against AC Milan in Turin on October 8.
Di Maria joined Juventus in a summer transfer from French club PSG. This Argentine star has been suffering from injuries since the beginning of this season.
