Hurricane Ian sets 500-years flood record in Florida: Governor

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said the flooding caused by the hurricane that hit Florida was the worst in 500 years. The governor gave this information in a press conference on Thursday. DeSantis said there was major flooding in central Florida. It is one of the events in 500 years.

The governor of Florida also said that 7,000 rescue workers are conducting operations in the flood-affected areas. 23 people are missing after the migrant ship sank in the cyclone. The US Border Patrol and Coast Guard are looking for them.
According to US media, Ian is one of the top five strongest storms to hit the US. The storm has already crossed Florida. However, the extent of the damage is yet to be ascertained.
