Two more mass graves containing more than 100 bodies have been found in the northeastern Ukrainian city of Izium, which was retaken from Russia. However, Russian authorities did not immediately comment on the two newly discovered mass graves. Moscow, on the other hand, has regularly denied allegations of atrocities and attacks on civilians in the Ukraine war.
Last week they finished exhuming 436 bodies from a mass grave. Most of them are believed to have died violently, the regional governor said. Among them, 30 were found to have been tortured before their death. The bodies of 17 soldiers were also recovered from a mass grave.
Zelensky said in an interview about the sanctions imposed by Western countries on Russia, 'The sanctions must continue. Sanctions will have political as well as economic implications. '
The area was occupied by Russia for several months. Ukrainian authorities found a large mass grave in a forested area of Izium earlier this month. Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of their deaths.
