Reserve troops have been called up to join the Russian army for the war in Ukraine. In addition to enlisting as reservists among civilians who have military training, there are ex-servicemen on the reserve list. After that, protests started in Russia.

In a speech given in this situation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that President Putin is knowingly sending his citizens to their deaths.
Zelensky said this in a speech given on Saturday (September 24) evening. AFP reported this information in a report on Sunday (September 25).

According to the report, Zelensky addressed the Russians in Russian on Saturday evening. He warned the Russians there that their president was knowingly "sending Russian citizens to die (in Ukraine)".

Calling on Moscow's forces to surrender, Zelensky said: "You will be treated civilly... no one will know the circumstances of your surrender".
