The death toll from last week's bombing at an educational center in the Afghan capital Kabul has risen to 53. The United Nations said that 46 of the dead were women.

The casualties occurred when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a women's education center. At the time of the attack, university admission tests were going on at the centre.
Locals believe that the attack was aimed at the Hazara community of Shia Muslims near Kabul. Historically, the Hazara community has been under attack in Afghanistan.

The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan said in a tweet, "Our human rights team is still gathering information on this crime." The incident is being verified.

Another 153 people were injured in this attack.
