South Korea has denied supplying Ukraine with lethal weapons. South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has denied allegations by Russian President Vladimir Putin that the country is supplying lethal weapons to the Kyiv government.

He said his country has not supplied Ukraine with any lethal weapons.
Earlier on Thursday, at the annual conference of Volday Discussion Club in the capital Moscow, Putin said that the West started the war in Ukraine with provocation. South Korea's decision to provide weapons in this war will destroy the relationship between the two countries.

In response, South Korea's president told reporters on Friday, "In solidarity with the international community, we have only conducted humanitarian and peaceful cooperation in Ukraine. But never sent lethal weapons or anything like that. However, it is a question of our sovereignty and I want to inform you that we are trying to maintain peaceful and good relations with all countries of the world, including Russia."

South Korea has so far sent bulletproof clothing, helmets and other non-lethal military aid to Ukraine, South Korean state news agency Yonhap reported.

"If we start sending weapons to North Korea, how will South Korea react?" Putin asked South Korea at yesterday's summit.
