Egg thrown at King Charles, accused arrested

Police have arrested a man after throwing an egg at King Charles III in Luton, UK. According to the Guardian, the incident happened on Tuesday when King Charles was on a visit.

Charles traveled to Luton on Tuesday to board a newly launched transport system. King Charles' security team escorted the accused away from the crowd shortly after the egg was thrown outside the town hall. The accused person was then taken to another area. Then the king started shaking hands with the crowd again.

This is not the first time an egg has been thrown at King Charles. A month ago, King Charles and his wife Queen Consort Camilla visited northern England to attend an engagement ceremony. Eggs were thrown at them there.

The British royal family has faced such attacks or 'egg protests' before, the Guardian says. In 2002, the then British Queen Elizabeth II had eggs thrown at her royal car during a visit to Nottingham. Earlier in 1995, anti-British protesters threw eggs at the current King Charles. He was walking in an area of Dublin at the time.
