For the first time ever, the US dollar will have the signatures of two women. Last Thursday, the country's officials released new dollar notes.

The new currency, which will hit the US market from the beginning of next year, will have the signatures of two women. They are US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Treasurer Lynn Malerba.

These coins will be supplied to the Federal Reserve this month and they will be released in the market from the beginning of 2023, according to the Treasury Department or the Ministry of Finance.

"This will be the first time a woman Treasury secretary has signed a U.S. bank note and the first time two women have signed our currency," Yellen said in a speech.

"Today it is not a matter of my signature on the coin or any new signature," he asserted. It is our collective effort to build a strong and inclusive economy.”

He said that currently 62 percent of the workforce employed in the country's treasury are women. But he says there is much more to be done.

"Today is a day to remember the journey we have made for equality and inclusion," he said. I hope we all carry this enthusiasm forward.''

Meanwhile, Malerba's signature marks the first time an indigenous woman's signature has been added to US currency. "This is a historic moment," he said.

The US Treasury Department said that one dollar and five dollar coins with their signatures will be released in the market first.
