After successfully hosting the World Cup, Qatar is now dreaming of hosting the Olympics. Qatar wants to host the 2036 Olympics. Although the official way has not been applied yet.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has yet to say when the host country for 2036 will be announced. However, it is certain that Qatar will take part in that fight. If successful, they will become the first Muslim country to host the Olympics. Like the Football World Cup, the Olympics will also be demanded to be held at the end of the year. But no one knows whether it will be accepted.
Qatar claims that the infrastructure it has built for the football World Cup will be maintained and improved in the coming days. That means weather system, roads, airport, metro are all ready for them. So there should be no difficulty in hosting the Olympics after 14 years. Rather, the infrastructure will improve further.
A Qatari government source told Reuters news agency, "This World Cup success will put Qatar far above the rest. We have proven successful. The Asian Games were held here in 2006. Again in 2030 we host. All the infrastructure is here. So there is no problem in giving us the responsibility.”
The Olympics will be held in Paris in 2024. The next two Olympics are to be held in Los Angeles and Brisbane. The host for 2036 is yet to be decided. But now Qatar is counting the hours of hope.
